It is very healthy for raids to have a wait list, in case someone on the roster can not make it. Raiders will ... GENERALLY... be taken before casuals, but there are exceptions. If we need a certain class more or taking the casual would benefit the raid more, then we will. An example of this would be that if we have a choice of taking a 4th priest(raider) or a druid(casual), we will likely take the druid if their raid performance is acceptable.<br /><br />If you are on a wait list, you are expected to be online, prepared and ready to go at start time, in case you are needed. If you know you will not be on, or if you decide to make other plans, then post so you can be removed from the wait list. Leaving yourself on a wait list is saying that you will be available. I don't know how many times we have needed someone to fill in and went through the entire wait list and NO ONE was online or available. This is unacceptable, and from this point on you will be considered as no showing for the raid if you are not available at raid time.<br /><br />Casuals can use wait lists as a way to get a foot in the door to becoming a raider. If you are on and ready and we need you to fill in, then you get a chance to raid and show us what you can do. If we know we have a casual rogue that can handle being a raider, then we will offer a raiding spot to that rogue instead of recruiting should the need for another rogue arise. On the other hand, if you constantly sign up, get waitlisted &nbsp;and then are not online, it reflects poorly on your ability to make raids that you signed up for.<br /><br />Now for my final...and most important statement about wait lists: Anyone unwilling to sit on the wait lists sometimes, stop signing up for raids, period. We have more people who can fill roles on raids than we can take on any given raid, and that is a GOOD thing.
